What does Shi-Foo Mean? Shi-Foo (SiFu) is a respectful form to address for people engaged in skilled trades such as an accomplished teacher or master as such SHI-FOO means Master Chef in Chinese/Cantonese.
How did Shi-Foo came about? Shi-Foo was formed by two guys that got tired of the Corporate business life and decided to try out the food service industry. But not just any food service cooking up the same old style of food like every Chinese food restaurant. Inexperienced, but passionate about food, we went from place to place and city to city looking for the right location. After weeks of searching and a few wrong turns led us to a plaza in a quiet city known as Chino Hills, CA. After 15 minutes of exploring this pleasant neighborhood we decided to get the restaurant up and running not knowing what will happen. Felt like Bugsy Siegel, hoping that if we build it people will come.... But we had a mission to change the way Chinese food is prepared, made, and thus our tagline "Chinese Food Re-mastered."
How is "Chinese Food Re-mastered?" At Shi-Foo we must first be responsible as how the food is prepared, so we put ourselves as a customer first looking from the outside in. We want our food to be as healthy as possible.
Our Ingredients: Our meats and vegetables are delivered three to four times a week to keep the rotation of the food as fresh as possible. Our Foods:
